PingPong

PingPong - a ping application for Android - tests whether a particular host is reachable. For this, it first tries to use ICMP. If this fails, it utilizes a TCP connection on port 7 (echo). It also measures the round trip time and packet loss. Works best on WiFi and if host supports ICMP and echo.

Application Permissions:

Internet- Allows applications to open network sockets.

Access coarse location- Allows an application to access coarse (e.g., Cell-ID, WiFi) location

Wake lock- Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming
